about us

Peak Dale Primary School is situated in the Peak District National Park. We wonderful school grounds including a  field and woodland area.  The school is located 10 minutes from Buxton and there is a strong working village community which is supportive of the school.

Although we are a small school, we work and learn as part of a Federation of schools. For our staff this means they have access to peer-to-peer support and enhanced training and development opportunities. For our children, they get to meet other children , enjoy school trips together and compete in various cross curricular, sporting events and co-curricular events.

This website is an opportunity for everyone at the school to share what we do here with the wider community; it is populated with examples of children's work, photographs, videos and also lots of information about the school. We regularly update our content, so it is well worth checking the site every few weeks to see the latest exciting things that are going on Peak Dale.

We always greatly appreciate your feedback on how we are doing and also any suggestions you might have on things we could add to our site. If you do, just e-mail (or, of course, 'phoning or writing are still most welcome!).

It is our hope that this website continues to give everyone the chance to share in our lives here at school and the fantastic time we have each and every day.

Head of School's Welcome

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Peak Dale Primary School, which I am extremely proud to lead as Head of School.

As a school, we pride ourselves on our child-centred approach; ensuring that pupils remain our key focus so they receive the best possible provision, education and care.

We are committed to offering all children the opportunity to grow, thrive and succeed in a safe and nurturing environment. Our school vision and values encapsulate this and our unrelenting intention and dedication to provide the highest quality of education for all.

Our main priority is to ensure pupils are provided with high quality experiences which allow them to become articulate, confident and happy individuals ready for the next phase of education and beyond.

As a school community, we ensure we provide a calm and stimulating environment where everyone is valued and where excellent behaviour and mutual respect is modelled by all.

We are passionate about igniting children’s curiosity and developing a real enthusiasm for learning which extends beyond the classroom and school life.

Our team of committed staff provide support, challenge and expertise, enabling every child to achieve. We work endlessly to ensure that our children have special and happy memories of their time at Peak Dale and we highly value the positive relationships we build between children, parents, staff, governors and the local community.

We work in partnership with families to ensure that all children achieve their full potential, having relentlessly high expectations of ourselves and others.

Providing the best possible provision, care and a rich variety of learning opportunities is what makes Peak Dale such a special and unique place to learn.

Thank you

Mission

We  have one clear vision:

'We have Heart'
We have a firm belief that nobody should be left behind and the needs of the few are just as important as the needs of the many now and in the future.

At Peak Dale, we have that vision for all of our children. We want every lesson, every experience and every day in our school, to expose our children to an education without limits – full of heart.

Our vision extends beyond the school gates, where we hope to see our community touched by the values lived by our pupils. We believe that in walking through life together we can flourish together, creating the best opportunities and outcomes for all.

This vision underpins everything that we do at our school. We believe that our vision and values enhance our care and aspiration for every individual child, drives our goals for success and enables us to teach our children how to live well.

We have one school vision:
WE HAVE HEART

Every member of staff is committed to developing the whole child, encouraging emotional health and well-being as well as physical and academic achievement. We are truly committed to providing a happy, caring and safe learning environment for all within a values led context, where everyone feels valued and grows in confidence and independence.
