High Peak Sports delivered an afternoon of leadership training for all our Year 5’s. They all passed their training and will now organise and lead games at lunchtimes for all the children in the school. Part of the course was to invent their own game, complete with aim, rules and name. They are now looking forward to getting the children to take part in these brilliant games!
All children from Years 3,4,5 and 6 competed against other schools at this event, which was run by High Peak Sports Partnership. They had a great time, especially doing the steeple chase. We won individual gold, silver and bronze medals, and overall we came 2nd!
Y2 to Y6 children enjoyed a morning on the recreation field cross country cycling. Cycle Derby, who supplied all the bikes and helmets gave tuition and organised raced. In the afternoon all the Y2, 3 and 4 children took part in a cycling competition, competing with Dove Holes. As well as developing their cycling skills, the children had great fun and many medals were won!
Well done to all the Y3 and 4 children who competed in the cross country event run by High Peak Sports Partnership. They particularly enjoyed the hurdles event. Doing the daily mile had prepared the children in endurance running and we came away with gold, silver and bronze medals!
50 children from Years 2 to 6 took part in the Quad Kids Event held at Peak Dale Recreation Ground by High Peak School Sports Partnership. A young Ambassador from Hope Valley School came to inspire and talk to the children about different sports. They had fun in the jumping and throwing events and the relay races were very exciting.
What an exciting afternoon.
A team of 8 children had a great afternoon at Dove Holes school doing archery. They all managed to master the technique, and some became quite skilled archers!
“I loved it”
“Best sport event I’ve been on”
A team of 6 children represented Peak Dale at the Tri-Golf event at Chapel Golf Club. All tried their best at pitching and putting, gaining lots of new skills.
“It was good”
“I really enjoyed it”
It was a lovely, sunny afternoon at Buxton Cricket Club when our children took part in the cricket festival. They practised batting, throwing and catching. They helped and supported each other, and worked as a team.
Children from Reception to Year 6 performed their exciting and dynamic Cheerfest dance at the New Mills Art Theatre. The ‘Peak Dale Pump It up’ team had practiced their routine for several weeks at after school club. They bravely performed on stage in front of many other schools.
The children said
“I loved watching the professional dancers and I enjoyed the dancing”
“I liked performing on the stage, everyone cheering”.
Well Done to all involved.
Some of our Year 4 and 5 children had a great afternoon doing various sports including archery, darts, golf, boccia and curling. They were all enthusiastic about trying new sports and they encouraged each other to keep trying. One child said “This is the best sports events that I’ve ever been to!”
